North Pocono Student Death, 15-year-old Reagan May of Milford PA Found Dead, Obituary

The North Pocono School District is in mourning following the tragic death of Reagan May, a 15-year-old student from Moscow, Pennsylvania. District officials confirmed that the high school sophomore was found unresponsive at a residence on Aberdeen Road in Madisonville on the afternoon of October 2, 2025.

The heartbreaking news has shaken the entire community, as classmates, teachers, and families come to terms with the sudden loss of a young life.

Superintendent Daniel J. Powell, Ed.D., shared a statement with North Pocono families, writing:
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the loss of one of our high school students. The passing of a young life is an unimaginable tragedy, and our entire North Pocono community is deeply affected. Our love, thoughts, and prayers are with the student’s family and all who knew her during this very difficult time.”

To support grieving students and staff, the North Pocono Guidance Department has made counselors available at the high school. Families are also encouraged to reach out for assistance in connecting with community resources.

Local parents and friends expressed their sorrow on social media. Maryanne Pietryka Fox, whose daughter was in the same grade as Reagan, said:
“She was in my girl’s grade 10. The loss is devastating for the students and for all of us as parents.”

The district emphasized that in times of tragedy, the strength of the community comes from leaning on one another with compassion and support.
